When GPS, mobile, Wi-Fi, telemetry or tracking systems fail, it is tempting to assume a jammer is responsible. Sometimes that is correct. Often the cause is accidental interference, receiver overload, faulty electronics or another transmitter sharing the same RF environment.
Our RF jamming detection service is designed to separate those possibilities. We measure the relevant spectrum, look for abnormal activity, correlate it with the failure and, where possible, locate the source.
The objective is not to prove a jammer exists. The objective is to establish what the RF evidence actually shows.

What can RF jamming affect?
Modern sites and vehicles rely on many radio systems. An interfering transmitter may affect one band, several bands, or only receivers close to the source. We investigate suspected jamming affecting:

How do you detect an RF jammer?
Define the failure
We establish exactly what equipment is affected, where the problem occurs and whether there is a repeatable pattern.
Identify the frequencies
The affected technology determines which parts of the spectrum need to be measured.
Measure the RF environment
Spectrum analysers, real-time capture and suitable antennas reveal activity that ordinary network diagnostics cannot see.
Correlate and classify
We compare suspect signals with the reported failure and assess whether the evidence is consistent with jamming, interference or another fault.
Locate where practical
Directional techniques can be used when the interfering transmission is strong enough and active for sufficient time.
Intermittent jamming and short RF events
Some of the hardest cases are failures that happen for seconds or minutes and disappear before an engineer arrives. Where appropriate, RF monitoring and logging can capture the event over time. The recording can then be compared with tracker dropouts, network failures or other operational symptoms.
RF interference or deliberate jamming?
The symptoms can look identical. Broadband electrical noise, faulty power supplies, digital electronics, nearby high-power transmitters and receiver desensitisation can all produce what appears to be a jamming event. A technical investigation considers frequency, signal level, bandwidth, timing, repetition and behaviour before drawing a conclusion.

When is a jamming investigation useful?
A specialist RF investigation is useful when conventional IT, vehicle, security or electrical troubleshooting has established that a wireless system is failing but cannot explain why. It is particularly valuable where the problem is location-specific, intermittent, commercially disruptive or security-sensitive.
